P.E.A.K. (Progressive Earth Alliance at Kennesaw)
February 8, 2010
The Environmental Alliance at KSU has changed its name and interests to address a broader range of issues and hopefully reach a broader audience; it is now called Progressive Earth Alliance at Kennesaw or PEAK. So I think that, at least until KPJC has regained a lot of active members, anyone who is interested in activism should just start coming to the P.E.A.K. meetings, and we can plan events and demonstrations through that group instead, since they are more organized and active at this point.
So look up P.E.A.K. (Progressive Earth Alliance at Kennesaw) on Facebook and join; also here is a link to their Google group: http://groups.google.com/group/environmentalalliance?lnk=
I think that the primary goal should simply be building a network of the people who are interested in activism at KSU so we can organize them! Having one group active at first is the best way to do that–later we can branch off into separate groups with different interests, once it gets going strong enough to do that.

Spring 2010 — Activists wanted!
January 11, 2010
Hi,
It would be nice if we could have hold several demonstrations on campus, starting this semester, as activism seems to have been lacking at KSU the past year! My efforts to recruit new members and draw interest to the group have achieved some limited success, but it’s going to take more than that.
Is anyone interested in leading this club? I have met a few people who are interested in participating, but we need more students to join if the club is going to have successful events, and so we need leaders who have have lots of connections on campus!
I would be able to offer support and attend meetings and events regularly, but as I am busy with my own projects (website, church, books, etc.), it would be better if someone else could put more time into reorganizing the KPJC.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in helping. There are lots of issues that the student body needs to be educated about, and it’s not right to keep quiet about injustices happening around the world. Just putting a little effort into making your voice heard can be a big inspiration to the people around you

meeting times — 11/18 and 11/19 @ 7pm in the Student Center
November 13, 2009
UPDATE: The first meeting will be on Wednesday, not Monday as I originally planned.
Next week, I will hold meetings in the student center on two different days (in case you cannot attend one of them).
They will be on Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm.
Just look for one of the tables in the main area of the student center; there will be a sign, and I might bring my snuggie with peace symbols on it if I feel brave enough to wear that in public! If even just a couple people show up, it will be a plus.
The purpose is to talk to new members and get some ideas about how we can revitalize social activism at KSU.
For example, we could hold a war protest, get in touch with other groups such as Invisible Children or Not For Sale Campaign, spread information about the School of the Americas Watch taking place next weekend near Ft. Benning, participate in the End the Fed rally in Atlanta on 11/22, and so on… bring your own ideas!
I hope everyone had a safe Friday 13th

Hi,
As you can see, I have created a new KSU Clubs blog here at kpjc.ksuclubs.com
The Peace & Justice Coalition (KPJC) is trying to reorganize and have a strong showing next semester, so I am currently working to advertise and recruit new members. With such a large university, we really need more social activism on campus!
I am planning to send out an email tonight about having a meeting next week.
